The Director, Logistics Western Canada will be responsible for leading logistics and warehouse operations in British Columbia and Winnipeg. The role will be responsible for a few areas including outgoing shipments to our Laboratory Health and Service Centres and Independent Physician offices, the movement of specimens and other goods to Dynacare laboratories and external clients, warehouse operations, the replenishment of materials to Dynacare laboratories, dispatch operations and the management of incoming/outgoing customs operations to enhance business growth. The role will also be responsible for maximizing the use of our fleet of vehicles while minimizing investment. This is a regular full-time role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.


Key Qualifications


  • University degree in Business, Science or Engineering
  • 7 to 10 years of related work experience in a senior leadership role
  • General knowledge of medical laboratory operations
  • Knowledge about Highway Traffic and Safety Act and how it affects a national logistics network
  • A recognized logistics and/or supply chain certification (CITT, P.LOG), MBA an asset
  • Solid analytical and technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, conduct training and to present information in an advisory capacity
  • Team oriented approach to problem solving and program development with strong nurturing management skills

  • Assess competition and market opportunities and threats, recommend appropriate plans and implement decided actions when relevant
  • Proactively implement action plans and programs to improve and address operational performance issues affecting time, cost and quality
  • Build and develop people
  • Benchmark and implement advanced logistics processes and systems that will position Dynacare for future
  • growth (improve operational and performance metrics)
  • Implement ongoing management controls and visibility to more closely control logistics operations
  • Drive increased employee engagement by implementing leadership practices that increase leadership visibility
